Warehouse- Showroom - QC Hold Allocation

Warehouse, showroom and Quality Control (QC) Hold are buckets that can be used to indicate where product is being stored within an inventory site. The Warehouse/Showroom/QC Hold Allocation function can be used to move items between these different buckets. For instance, items can be moved from warehouse to showroom to replenish product that has been sold, or items that need to be tested can be placed in QC Hold.

  • Showroom - All items that are available for sale are considered to be in the showroom. Whenever an item is sold, the quantity is removed from the showroom even if it causes the showroom quantity to go negative and their is product available in the warehouse or QC Hold
  • Warehouse - Warehouse is meant to be used as a designation for items that are in an overstock location. As items are sold from the showroom, adjustments can be done to move items from the overstock warehouse to the showroom.
  • QC Hold - Quality Control Hold can be used to designate items that are either damaged or need to be tested before they can be made available for sale. Currently, having a quantity in QC Hold is for information only and does not stop users from selling the item. For instance, if an item has 5 on hand that are all in QC Hold, the user can sell these which will set the showroom quantity to -5 and leave QC Hold at 5.
